Going through a casting website is a much more lengthier and complex process than just finding someone you know to fill in for a role. I had to manage it very carefully, keeping the actors happy as well as keeping them working to our deadlines.
Going back to the beginning auditions, to help explain the process instead of ringing round to over selection of over 30 applicants, I created a letter of which I sent out to all the candidates.
